A LONG TERM COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY – Inland Empire Paper Company - Spirit Lake, Idaho.
The Inland Empire Paper Company located in Millwood, Washington, has been in continuous operation since 1911, and began their forestry program 57 years ago. Most lands shown are IEP, with the exception of the immediate lakeshore and wetlands in the lower left. IEP has a stewardship plan on their 116,000 acres designed to provide high quality wood products, clean and abundant water, wildlife habitat and recreation opportunities. The snags in the lower left were intentionally left to provide important 'roosting' habitat for Bald Eagles and Ospreys.
