CLEAN WATER AND OUR FORESTS - Ochlockonee River - near Surf, Florida.
Water is our most important resource, and again it is becoming a very important 'political power struggle'. Well managed forests help provide clean water all across this country and assure clean water for downstream users. The importance of maintaining control of that water is vitally important to landowners, states, cities and local communities. "Those" that control the watersheds, control all productivity in the country; farming, ranching, wood products, all industry and commerce, and everyone's ability to recreate.
At present, bills in congress (Senate bill S-787) and a similar bill in the House under the guise of protecting wetlands, would turn control of all water in the country over to the EPA. A federal take-over of our water and water rights is not in America's best interests.
